Queenstown Airport (ZQN) is the main domestic and international airport for the Southern Lakes region of New Zealand. Located in Frankton, just 8 km (about a 10-minute drive) from Queenstown’s town centre, it serves as the gateway to iconic destinations including Wānaka, Fiordland, and Central Otago.
The airport is operated by Queenstown Airport Corporation (QAC), which was incorporated in 1988. QAC is jointly owned by Queenstown Lakes District Council (75.01%) and Auckland International Airport Limited (24.99%).
Queenstown Airport supports a wide network of domestic and trans-Tasman flights, with regular services from Air New Zealand, Jetstar, Qantas, and Virgin Australia. Queenstown Airport is New Zealand’s fourth-busiest airport, handling over 2 million passengers annually.
Queenstown Airport is proud to be a gateway to Aotearoa New Zealand and the world. As guardians of this key community asset, we operate world-class infrastructure, maintain strong aviation networks, and support the economic and cultural vitality of the region.
