Queenstown Airport is proud to be a Tesla Destination Charging Partner, teaming up to provide six electric vehicle charging stations at the airport.
The charging stations are Tesla Gen3 Wall Connectors and can charge all makes and models of plug-in electric vehicles that have a Type 2 charging port or adapter.
Project Manager Chris Walker says those visiting or travelling through the airport will now have access to convenient charging.
“We’re proud be facilitating and enabling the use of EVs at the airport. Installing the Tesla Wall Connectors is a key project in our sustainability workplan.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how people use them to help us make decisions about our future parking and EV charging offering.”
The six charging stations are located in the front corner of car park A at the airport. Two of the chargers are P120 for those visiting the airport to drop people off or pick people up. The remaining four are P72hr for those travelling away for a weekend or few days on business.
EV charging will be available to customers, members of the airport community, and staff for free for the first twelve months with standard parking rates applied.
